THE TREASURES OF SOUTHERN MOROCCO

DAY 01

One of the most interesting ways of discovering spectacular insights into the real lesser known morocco , departing from marrakech crossing the impressive high atlas with its different colours red , green , yellow and brown mountains , fortified villages inhabited by berber population who have maintained intact their customs and traditions through time , via the tizi n tichka pass 2260 meters meaning the passage of pastures ,

DAY 02

passing close to some interesting salt mines and lead to the village of telouet at a high of 2000 meters to visit a quite and splendid casbah of pash el glaoui which dates to the early 20 century , the grandeur of the typically berber structures and the magnificent andalusian style decorations in plaster , carved wood and coloured tiles an unusual combination of two architectural styles in a casbah huddled in the austere solitude of a mountainous landscape recall the splendours of the powerful pash el glaoui, lord of the southern atlas who died in 1957 , after this visit continuation to the casbah ait benhaddou a wonderful fortified village perched on high and a real architectural jewel built of beaten earth , it becomes one of UNESCO's world heritage site in desamber 1987 , the visit takes 45 minutes , and then our tour heads to zagora via ouarzazate crossing the valley of draa which considered one of the most lovely areas in morocco also known as the valley of thousand casbahs due to the surprising number of fortified , earth-built settlements located around the oasis in particular , once arriving to zagora we will leave our vehicle to ride the camels which will take us to the camp .
